Nike Ladies Apparel – Spring Fashion 2010

I am always impressed when a powerhouse company can put out an attractive apparel line. More often then not the colors are drab, the cuts are boxy, and the designs are incredibly boring. So when I see a industry leading company like Nike Golf continue to offer innovative and stylish ladies apparel season after season they quickly move to the top of my must have list. For Spring 2010 Nike sent us two complete outfits from top to bottom. One outfit is light and bright and the other is more subtle and subdued but both are downright adorable.

Outfit #1:
Believe it or not this first outfit is actually my favorite. I know number two is brighter and most would think is more my style but there is something about this first option that I just love. The contrasting colors and design on the sides and back of the polo really caught my eye. My favorite of all the pieces, however, was the white jacket. I wish I could have a cool and comfortable jacket to match every one of my golf outfits. Forget a shoe obsession I want an entire closet filled with pullovers and lightweight spring jackets.

Top – Color Block Polo (Cool Mint/Classic Charcoal):
I was trying to figure out what color green to use to describe this polo but Nike got it right it’s a cool Mint. This color really stood out to me because it’s not a common shade and I really liked that. Nike makes some of the most lightweight and airy tech materials I have ever felt. Moisture is wicked away from the body and because of the ‘airiness’ of the fabric odors do not get trapped. Nike knows how to do simple right. The front of this polo is a solid color but the charcoal accents on the side and back are what really makes this top. Plus when paired with the charcoal skort that I will talk about below you have one smoking outfit. I am not sure how Nike does it but they have a way of making their golf polos form fitting without being tight so those sexy female curves can be shown without being obnoxious. Sizes run from XS-XL and I have always found their tops to run large so I recommend going down one size.

Bottoms – Nike Tech Skort (Classic Charcoal):
The charcoal color of this skort is the exact same color in the accents on the top above. With moisture wicking technology this skort not only looks incredible but it’s unbelievably comfortable and will keep you dry and cool round after round. The skort sits on the natural waist and falls just above the knees. The shorts under the skort are loose fitting and do not stick to the leg when it gets warm which is a huge plus. One of the belt loops in the very front has several slots to hold tees and it really comes in handy when getting up to the tee box. Washing this skort is great because stains seem to come right out and the bottom never loses it’s shape. Just like the tops I find Nike bottoms to run a little big so I suggest going one size down. Sizes run 2-16.

Outerwear – Dri-FIT Vapor Jacket (White):
As stated earlier I have a bit of an obsession with golf jackets. There is something about having a matching jacket to go with my golf outfit that just makes me happy. This Dri-Fit jacket by Nike is amazing. I love that it has the same moisture wicking technology as the polos because even though I may be a little chilly during an early round that doesn’t mean I don’t get sweaty from taking a few swings. I played an entire round with this jacket on due to extremely high winds one day and while everyone else was complaining I was perfectly comfortable the entire time. Some other jackets I have tried are slightly slim in the arms which made it hard, and sometimes impossible, to push the sleeves up but with this jacket that was not an issue at all. From the front this is just a good looking white jacket but the back has a great classy design. This piece for me was more true to size than the polo or skort but I like my outwear a little bigger so that could be why. Sizes run XS-XL.

Shoes – Women’s Air Zoom Vapor II (Classic Charcoal/Cool Mint):
There are many different options for golf shoes but Nike Golf has always been some of the most comfortable on the market. Now fashion truly meets function with the Air Zoom Vapor II shoes because not only are these shoes comfortable and supportive but they are absolutely adorable. The Air Zoom Vapor II is available in three different color patterns but the ones we have shown here are a perfect match to outfit number one. It’s a girls dream! Even though this is a perfect match the colors in these shoes are still pretty neutral so they can coordinate with many other outfits as well. Nike Golf really can dress a woman from head to toe and have her looking fabulous. These shoes come in medium width sizes 5-11 and wide width sizes 6-10, however, wide is not available in all styles.

Outfit #2:
If bright is your goal for spring fashion then this outfit will be a great fit. The vivid pink sleeveless polo is the perfect compliment to the white plaid skort. The light and fresh appearance of this outfit will definitely add a spring in your step and boost your confidence on the course.

Top – Nike Tech Pique S/Less Polo (Aster Pink):
Sleeveless shirts are a must for the spring and summertime but finding one that fits can sometimes be a struggle. There is nothing more annoying to me then a sleeveless polo that has arm holes so big that I could fit both my arms in one. I truly dislike it when my undergarments show because the sleeve is just too big. The Nike Tech Pique sleeveless polo does not have that problem and is probably the biggest reason why I personally love this top. Even though this is a solid polo there is a light touch of piping on the front that adds a bit of dimension and gives the appearance of a more fitted top to show off those beautiful feminine curves. The tech material is just fantastic and will keep any women cool and comfortable through her round. Just like the first outfit this polo does run a little large so I suggest going one size down. Size run XS-XL.

Bottoms – Nike Plaid Vapor Skort (White):
As long as I go one size down in Nike skorts they honestly fit my body type better than any other skort on the market. I prefer a slightly longer skort (I’m a girl I have my body issues) so I just love the way these skorts fall just above my knees and how they sit so comfortably on my waist. The white plaid design of this bottom has a bright springtime flair. All the ladies from the women’s clinic loved the colors in this skort, it was a huge hit with them. One of the ladies was so excited that the buttons on this skort are snap buttons. She said she doesn’t know how to sew and she hates when she loses a button because she has to take it to a tailor to get fixed and with this skort she wouldn’t have that problem. As mentioned above sizes run a little big so I advise going one size down. Sizes run 2-14.

Shoes – Air Summer Lite III (Aster Pink/Classic Charcl-Wht):
If you are someone who is not a fan of a heavy golf shoe and is looking for something that will keep your feet cool while still being comfortable enough to wear for an entire round then these might be the perfect shoe for you. The combination of mesh and synthetic leather makes these shoes so lightweight and the ventilation system is ideal for keeping the foot cool no matter how warm it is outside. Along the extreme comfort these shoes they look great too. These are definitely not your typical golf footwear but they are bright and sleek and are the perfect match to this springtime outfit. These are offered in four color options and sizes are 5-11 medium width and 6-10 wide width but not all styles are available in wide.

I have tried to fight the large name brand companies but with Nike Golf I just can’t do it. Their clothes fit me so well and the styles are always innovative without being outrageous. The mix and match options seem to be endless and I just love that I can find a shoe to perfectly match my outfit. For me Nike golf clothes fit so well and really help boost my confidence on the course. I may not play like Michelle Wie or Suzann Petterson but when I am wearing the same clothes they are I can at least pretend I am a golfing superstar.
